ABSTRACT

We analyze the genesis of new relationships generated from the Internet, with its central line of work by Eva Illouz (2003, 2007, 2008). We’re asking questions, and linking capital. To what extent can we talk about interpersonal relationships as a market?, How the self interacts with a dating website? New forms of socialization have led to a dissolution of traditional forms of love: emotion turned into an asset. Online relationships are generated under the auspices of the game and dream, suspended in time and space, creating a new framework of «rules and hierarchies.» What characterizes the kind of imagination that delivers Internet, why has such an affinity with disappointment and what role the disembodiment in disappointment? Recent research in cognitive psychology to confirm Bourdieu and establish the existence of an «intuitive thinking» («thin slicing»), which draw as the ability to make snap judgments and wise about people, problems and situations. We witnessed over the Internet, without the intervention of the body can maintain an emotional relationship. The fantasies were never as abundant and many in a culture that steadily builds, but may have become sterile because they are increasingly integrated into the hyper world of choice and market information.

Keywords: Internet, interpersonal relationships, emotional regulation and control, self-presentation, imagination, identity.
