La posibilidad que cada ser humano tiene de reconocerse a sí mismo es a lo que se ha denominado identidad, pero, el hecho de que tal identidad se construya en entornos naturales y socioculturales precisos, complica enormemente su significado, de lo que se desprende no sólo la pluralidad de identidades posibles, sino también las transformaciones y modificaciones que sufre una identidad concreta bajo el influjo de las influencias sociales y del paso del tiempo. Consecuentemente, la división de la humanidad en grupos claramente diferenciados en función únicamente de su religión, su nacionalidad o el color de su piel no es sólo una manera simplista de aproximarse a la realidad de la diversidad humana, sino que representa una óptica peligrosa, sobre todo cuando esta representación se perfila como un trampolín para la violencia real o simbólica.

ABSTRACT
The possibility that every human being has of being autorecognized is to what has been named an identity, but, the fact that such a identity is constructed in natural and sociocultural precise environments, complicates enormously his meaning, with what there parts not only the plurality of possible identities, but also the transformations and modifications that a concrete identity suffers under the influence of the social influences and of the passage of time. Consistently, the division of the humanity in groups clearly differentiated in function only of his religion, his nationality or the color of his skin is not only a simplistic way of coming closer the reality of the human diversity, but it represents a dangerous optics, especially when this representation is outlined as a springboard for the real or symbolic violence.
