La sociedad de la información y la sociedad del conocimiento están asentadas en el acceso y la apropiación de las llamadas Tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TICs). Estas tecnologías se proponen en el terreno del consumo como objetos de distinción y buen gusto. Ante este momento histórico obligado, numerosos son los sectores sociales que encuentran difícil el acceso a estas tecnologías, ya sea por su costo o por no contar con los saberes para maniobrarlas. La literatura especializada acuñó conceptos como el de “brecha digital” para describir la distancia entre quienes tienen acceso y quienes no, como también el de “nativos digitales” para nombrar a los jóvenes que tienen un trato familiar con las TICs. Sin embargo, la brecha merece una mayor conceptualización, ya que proviene del mismo sistema que la genera, y los nativos no sólo son tales por un corte generacional o etario, sino por oportunidades de alfabetización y adiestramiento cotidiano. Cabe preguntarse entonces si la sociedad del conocimiento es un nuevo escenario donde generar modos de vida exclusivos y excluyentes.

ABSTRACT
The information society and knowledge society are settled in access and ownership of so-called Information Technology and communication technologies (ICTs). These technologies are proposed in the field of consumption as objects of distinction and good taste. Against this historical moment required, there are numerous social sectors are difficult to access these technologies, either at cost or not having the knowledge to maneuver. The literature coined concepts like the «digital divide» to describe the gap between those with access and those without, as the «digital natives» to nominate young people who are friendly with ICT. However, the gap deserves further conceptualization, since it comes from the same system that generates it, and the natives are not only such a cut generation or age, but literacy and training opportunities everyday. Should therefore ask whether the knowledge society is a new scenario where lifestyles create unique and exclusive.
